In Walter Sorrells' Club Dread, we follow Chass Farmer into San Francisco in effort to escape from their dark past with Kyle Van Epps, the president of Global Media. This book would really interest that person because it takes you on a lot of ups and downs that you don’t know what to expect next. I recommend this book to anyone who is adventurous. So I got a couple of screenwriters who were so desperate to get in a favor for me sat them down and came up with a scenario.” The dialogue above shows how the author actually made us think that everything that was going on was unintentional but in actuality everything had is purpose fulfill. Some evidence from the book to support the word surprising is “ I needed to put you in some kind if hole. I use the word surprising to describe this book because it makes you think one thing when in reality something else is going on. The mom only gives her one week to solve the murder if not they are going to have to leave town once again.Ī few words to describe this book are surprising, captivating and lastly mysterious. But the daughter doesn’t want to leave town since she likes it there. The mom is scared that that guy is going to find them. Her mom freaks out because they have been running from a very dangerous guy for their whole a life. The girl is blamed for committing a crime that she didn’t do. To give a brief summary on the book it’s about a teen girl and her mom. By giving her an I am not going to quit attitude and im going to finish this mission. One of the most powerful quotes that was said in the book is “ I’ve been running for all of my life and im tired of it.” This was a powerful quote because it set the personality of the main character. This is a thrilling book, it’s like going through a roller coaster because you don’t know what going to happen next or where you’re going to end up next. Like, it wasn't coming off as a natural part of the story and more as something Sorrells tends to fix on. I mean, yeah, people use outdated terms, and, yeah, there are guys who ogle women's bodies in real life too, but I just felt a bit uncomfortable any time it came up within the story. Anytime I read over those terms or moments, it feels like it's the author's views and personality coming through rather than a fault of the character. ![]() Sometimes it's just who the character is, not the author. ![]() It's possible that Sorrells's characters are simply like that by design. I mentioned it in the post about the first book, Fake ID, but I've noticed that Sorrells uses outdated terms and that he tends to have this focus on women's sexuality and how they can flaunt it. Or maybe it's the things I've noticed in them as I've gotten older. Maybe it's because I've just outgrown them or my style has changed over the years. While I am still glad that I'm getting to read this series in its entirety, these books just don't seem to be grabbing me like they did when I was younger. Why are they keeping this tape hidden? Like, go to the FBI with it? The police? Literally anyone? What good is it doing anyone with you keeping it locked away somewhere? I hope he explains their reason for holding on to it in the next book. It gets a bit irksome after the first couple of times she says it. She said it in the first book, and she said it in this one, but low and behold, she still ended up moving. With Chass, I get a little annoyed when she's constantly saying that she won't be leaving again. I do have to say that I am a bit annoyed with Chass' character as well as the storyline. But this one was a whole new mystery with new characters, and a twist I didn't expect at the end. And, yeah, I'm partial to Ben's character. It's the first time readers meet Chass and uncover her life and the mystery behind it. I've been going back and forth on this, but I'm really not sure which book I liked better. ![]()
